En arrivant a Brisbane, il fallait d'abord qu'on s'occupe de la paperasse administrative, donc on a réservé une semaine dans un backpacker (le Bunk) qui est très bien, seulement si on veut faire la fête, car avec une boite de nuit musique a fond au rez-de-chaussée ça n'arrête jamais de vibrer. Je pense qu'on peut le dire, on a été très performant, sur cette semaine on a imprimé nos visas, fait notre demande pour le tax file number (pour ne pas être surtaxer sur nos salaires), acheté un téléphone et ouvert une ligne chacun (Guich's n°: 0449730404, and Gael's n°: 0449827512 mais celui de Gael ne marche pas pour le moment car il est tombé dans l'eau avec), ouvert un compte en banque a la Westpac, toutes les personnes comme nous qu'on a rencontrées n'avaient encore rien fait de tout,et ça 3 semaines après être arrivées.
Well it doing now 2 weeks that we are in Oz, and I think we can say we had a good time.
Arriving in Brisbane, it was necessary first one deals with the administrative paperwork, so we had booked a week in a backpacker (Bunk), which is very well, only if you want to party, as with a nightclub on the ground floor that it never stops to vibrate. I think we can say, we were very good, this week we printed our visas, we made the request for the tax file number (not to be surtaxer on our salaries), and bought a phone and open a line (Guich's No: 0449730404, and Gael's No: 0449827512, but Gael's phone does not work for the moment because he fell into the water), open a bank account at the Westpac.
Mais sur cette semaine la chose qu'on retiendra la plus, c'est la fête, tous les soirs en boite, on été toutes une petite bande de Français et de Belge, on a pas arrêté de rencontrer du monde.
Une fois cette semaine passée on a loué une voiture pour 4 jours, car vu qu'on commençait a chercher un van,et pour se déplacer dans l'Australie c'est grand (c'est un euphémisme) , c'était bien plus simple, donc nous voila partis dans notre berline automatique, premiers tours de roue à gauche finalement pas si dur que ça... On a vu plusieurs vans dans le sud de Brisbane, on est passé à Surfeurs Paradise qui est une ville très touristique mais pas belle du tout, il y a la plage qui est impressionnante car elle fait plusieurs kilomètres de long, et 10 m derrière les buildings qui mettent la plage a l'ombre dès 4h pm. Puis on est monté vers le nord, à 2 heures de route de Brisbane où on a passé deux jours à Noosa Heads, qui est tout simplement magnifique, les plages bleu turquoise, les forets tropicales et environnement sauvegardé des buildings. On a vu un varan d'un mètre de long, il s'est ramené vers nous sans aucune craintes, et puis enfin la grande rencontre tant attendu, la vrai grosse araignée australienne, elle faisait bien 15 cm d'envergure et le problème c'est qu'elle avais tissé juste au-dessus du chemin et qu'on été obligé de passer en dessous, super rassurant.....
But this week the thing we remember the most is that it was big party every night, it was all a small band of French and Belgian, we met lot of people.
Once this week past we rented a car for 4 days, because we began a search for a campervan, so let's go in our automatic sedan, the first laps wheel to the left ultimately not so hard as that ... We saw several vans in the south of Brisbane, we went to Surfeurs Paradise which is a tourist town, but not very nice at all, there is a beach that is impressive because it is several kilometers long and 10 m behind the buildings that put the beach on the shadow fast at 4 pm. Then we ascended to the north, at 2 hours' drive from Brisbane where we spent two days at Noosa Heads, which is simply beautiful, turquoise beaches, tropical forests and the environment without buildings. We saw a varan one meter long, he came to us without any fear, and then finally, the long-awaited big event, the real big Australian spider, it was 15 cm wide and the problem is she had woven just above the path and we were obliged to go below super reassuring .....
Guich avait repris contact avec Goeff the capitain of the Men Bati, et on a prit rendez-vous pour un dîner, résultat des choses on est restés 4 jours. le premier jour on passé la journée avec Goeff sur le bateau, on est pas allé très loin on a jeté l'ancre prés d'une petite île, il faisait beau et chaud, l'eau magnifique, on a vu des lamantins et on a nagé avec une tortue, elle été marante. Le soir c'était à nous de cuisiner, the Julien Risotto pour toute la famille (Geoff, Ashley qui est la seconde fille de Goeff et son petit amis, Brooke qui est la plus jeune fille de Geoff) ainsi qua quelques voisins, le lendemain soir on a passer la soirée avec Brooke dans un bar local,il y avait une boite à l'étage qui n'a jamais voulu nous laisser passer car on n'avait QUE nos passeports, et qu'il fallait une driver license, autant dire réservé aux locaux... La soirée a donc tournée en soirée billard, sympathique quand même.
Guich had keep contact with Goeff the captain of the Men Bati, and we took a dinner, the result of things we stayed 4 days. The first day we spent the day with Goeff on the boat, we were not gone very far and we dropped anchor meadows to a small island, it was sunny and warm, beautiful water, we saw dugongs and swam with a turtle, she was funny. In the evening it was up to us to cook, the Julien Risotto for the whole family and for few neighbors, the next day at night we spend the evening with Brooke in a local bar, there was a nigthclub upstair but security never wanted to let go because we had just our passports, and they want the australian driver license, so we can say it's reserved for local ... ,so we stayed down stair, we played pool, it was a very good time.
Le lendemain direction Gaven en train pour acheter le van, résultat des courses, journée improductive au possible ! on ne savait pas que les banques sont fermées le samedi en oz, donc pas d'accès à l'argent, donc pas de van, donc on été dégoûtés, on a rien fait de la journée...Heureusement Geoff nous a gratifiés d'un superbe gigot d'agneau le soir qui nous a remonté le moral !!! Petite nuit ensuite car le lendemain Brooke, nous a emmenés faire du Wakeboard avec ces potes de cleveland, journée TOP TOP ! Merci Brooke, c'était super ! Enfin le jour d'après on a été cherché notre magnifique van, hé hé ça y est on a notre van !!! il est beau il est confortable, il marche très bien et il n'est pas cher, MAGNIFIQUE !
Vient la dernière soirée chez Geoff, pour le remercier de son exemplaire hospitalité on lui a concocté un repas bien français, boeuf bourguignon, bon vin et camembert, bien sympa !!
Voila on peut dire que pour l'instant on se la coule douce en Australie !!! 2 semaines superbes sans ennuis majeurs mais bon maintenant il faut se mettre a bosser, on part au Nord faire du fruit picking, prochain message sur ce boulot ! Un grand merci a Geoff et ses filles qui ont été vraiment super ces derniers jours on espère les revoirs bientôt, on peut même les héberger dans notre van si ils sont OK !!!
The next day we went to Gaven to buy a van, but finaly unproductive day! We didn't know that banks are closed on Saturday in oz, and therefore no access to money, so no van and we were disgusted, we have done nothing of the day ... Fortunately Geoff cook us a superb leg of lamb in the evening, it was just delicious. The next day Brooke took us to make Wakeboard with her friends, great day! Thank you very much Brooke, it was super! Finally the next day we went pick up our magnificent van, hey hey we finaly got it! It is beautiful it is comfortable, it works very well and it is not expensive, MAGNIFIQUE!
And then the last evening in Geoff's house, to thank him for his exemplary hospitality we have cooked up a good french meal , boeuf bourguignon, good wine and camembert, very good!!
I think we can say that for the moment we have a really holiday time in Australia! 2 superb weeks without major hassle right now but we need to find a job quickly, so we go to north to pick fruit , the next message will be about this job! A big thank to Geoff and his daughters who have been really great in recent days and we hope see them soon, we can even accommodate them in our van if they are OK!
